The very same  big band sound that filled America's dance and concert halls over a half century ago is alive and swingin' right here baby!

Lou Polcari - Alto Sax

Lou Polcari is the instrumental music director at Shasta High School in Redding. He's married to Ruth, an accomplished flute player and educator in her own right, and has two delightful children in high school. Lou played in school bands in Boston where he grew up, in college in downtown Wyoming and then all over the world in the U. S. Army band. He actually has an advanced degree in clarinet performance and is still working on his sax playing :-), but his wife says his flute work is hopeless. Truthfully, Lou has been a professional musician pretty much all his life and is a tremendous asset to the Straight Ahead Big Band organization. We look forward to a long enjoyable partnership.
