Bob Hansen grew up in Union City, NJ, studying classical piano at an early age. As a high school and college student he played in rock groups and jazz ensembles, in addition to playing pipe organ for church services. He graduated from Brown University with a BA in Math/Econ (1973), and subsequently received an MD (1981) and MBA (1975) from Boston University in between gigs.

 

Bob has performed with several Jazz Ensembles and the Redding Symphony Orchestra. More recently he practices Medicine in Redding and serves as managing partner of Redding Anesthesia Associates when not playing gigs with The Straight Ahead Big Band.
